LAURA CASAMITJANA

     Laura Casamitjana was born in 1951 in Mexico City and has resided in Victoria, Tamaulipas since 1983.  She studied graphic design at the Universidad Iberoamericana and has worked professionally in that field for thirty years.  Laura's first individual exhibition was in 1982 and, since then, she has participated in many exhibitions including ones in Mexico City, Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, Aguacalientes, Baja, Queretaro, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Houston, San Antonio, Brownsville and McAllen.  Laura says that her goal is "to advance always, with new perspectives, new challenges, and new answers.  To always advance, with brush and spatula on hand, knife and scissors, pigments and waxes, glues and sands, papers and canvases.  To advance always, with an open mind, attentive eyes, and out stretched hands."
