GARY GROVES Gary Groves' photography captures unique moments in urban society. Primarily self taught, he is influenced by pioneering photographers such as Man Ray, Jean Tinguely, Imogen Cunningham and others. Both his figurative and abstract works are created exclusively in 35 millimeter format and printed in strictly in limited editions. Groves commands an array of processes that generate interesting juxtapositions of perception, resulting in photographs with a "hyper real" presence. His world is at once familiar and phantasmal. Blending colorist elements with striking composition, Groves creates works that haunt the subconscious with unforgettable imagery.
