TRAVIS
KEESE
Travis was born in Lyons, Texas in 1932. He currently resides in
Kerrville, Texas. Travis received his Bachelors of Fine arts degree from the University
of Houston. Travis served in the US Army from 1954-1957 when he was trained as
a photolithographer. He worked as staff artist for the Houston Museum of Natural science
from 1964-1971 producing wildlife background dioramas, posters and murals.
Travis was selected to design and paint two shipwreck murals for the
Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. He also designed and
painted a 125' x 23' mural for the Museum of the Gulf Coast in Port
Arthur. His work hangs in corporate and private collections and has
been made into numerous prints. He has regularly entered competitive
painting exhibitions and joined the Texas Association of Professional
Artists in 1977. He is included in "Samuel's Contemporary
Western Artists". "As long as I can see the natural world, I feel the need to put down
on canvas a world I can create within its dimensions."
