This
pottery is called Casas Grandes for the area once occupied by an
ancient culture and subsequently named by the Spaniards. This
area extends from Northwest Mexico into Arizona and New Mexico - these
pots are from the Mexican section of that region. The
ancient potter mined his own clay, painted with local minerals and
plants, and created these pots without a potters wheel or a
kiln. These pots are not prehistoric nor contemporary - testing
indicates that they date from the 1800s .
This
scarce pottery is found in museums throughout the world and is prized
by collectors of antiquities but is beautiful enough to be appreciated
by every person.
These
pots are from a collection out of Mexico. Authenticity is
guaranteed and provenance can be provided. The pots were legally
