PATRICIA SEVILLANO Patricia Sevillano was born in Tampaulipeca, Mexico. Patricia earned Bachelors of Arts in Art Studies at Pan American University in 1981. She trained with Professor Yepez in 1984 and Professor Nishizawa in 1955 - both notable artists in Mexico. Patricia earned the Octavia Arneson Award at the Brownsville Museum of Fine Art in March, 1998. She also placed first in the acrylic category at the Museum of Fine Arts Exhibition in Brownsville, Texas in March, 1999 and second in the drawing category at the National and Cultural Exhibition in Cuidad Victoria, Mexico in October, 1999. She is a member of the Hidalgo Watercolor Society. Dr Norman Browne, art professor at the University of Texas Pan American, says about Patricia, "Most of Patricia's work concentrates on the richness of the Mexican culture for subject matter. Whenever possible, Patricia uses the most vibrant and strong colors in her palette to reflect the prevalent feelings of her native culture."
