Wilderness
Manhunt: This is a vibrant account of the Spanish search for the French colony on the Texas coast (1685-1689). The narrative documents the Spaniard's six land expeditions and five sea voyages. Described is the finding by Spanish seamen in 1686 of La Salle's ship La Belle, the wreckage of which was rediscovered in 1995 by the Texas Historical Commission. Recounted are also the lives of the few colonists who survived this last tragic expedition. This classic book is enhanced by sixteen illustrations - including reproductions of maps and documents from the period. The entire book is filled with vivid battle scenes and pirate tales. |
