John Maskey's work is the result of a lifelong love affair with the
Southwest and Old Mexico. Growing up in deep South Texas instilled in him an intimate connection to
the land, the people and the culture of this rugged, romantic region.  His use of light, shadow
and color weave a  vibrant portrayal  of the unique character of the area.
    John has been honored with numerous awards and his work is included in
many prominent private and corporate collections, and has been featured in major art
publications.
