"Dream #8" by Yasmina Alaoui & Marco Guerra

Artists Yasmina Alaoui and Marco Guerra have produced the photographic series One Thousand and One Dreams inspired by The Thousand and One Nights, a legendary collection of tales from the Middle east, and the magic surrealism of South American literature. Each artwork begins with a black and white nude photograph by Guerra and then layered with Alaoui's complex ink drawings of contemporary Arabic Henna. The illusion of the sculptural and realism of the artworks enthralls and captivates the viewer.

Marco Guerra is a renowned New York based fashion photographer, originally from Chile. His work has been published by the likes of Conde Nast Traveller, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Black Book, the New Yorker Magazine, and other publications.

Yasmina Alaoui is of French and Moroccan descent. She studied sculpture and painting at the Louvre in Paris and has been a working artist for over 10 years.
